The President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, reiterated an absolute and forceful rejection to the pretense of using the Venezuelan territory for foreign war purposes, referring to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the support that the Nicolás Maduro’s regime gives to the first one.

This Tuesday February 22nd, during the ordinary online session of the Delegate Commission of the legitimate national Parliament, where the “Debate on the threat of war by the Russian Federation against Ukraine and its repercussion in Venezuela” took place, the President of the Government in charge expressed his repulse and he also expressed the support of the National Assembly for Ukraine.
“We reject the pretense of using Venezuelan territory for war purposes, as we have denounced from this national Parliament. Our role in this conflict continues to be to recover democracy in Venezuela, moving away from the pretensions of invasion by Russia.”
He also mentioned that they reject the use of Venezuelan territory by Cuba and Nicaragua, a situation that they have also denounced hundreds of times.
President Guaidó expressed support for the President of Ukraine in the search for a solution to the conflict.
He finally asked to refer to the Comptroller Commission of the legitimate National Assembly the investigation into the link between officials of Nicolás Maduro’s regime with more than 250 million dollars found hidden in Swiss banks as a result of corruption.
“Tens of billions that have been swindled by the dictatorship while there is 94% of poverty in the country as a result of that theft.”
